Librarians’ Development Programme Organized at KIIT
Bhubaneswar: September 19: A two-day Librarians’ Development Programme (LDP) was organized in KIIT University recently. Inaugurating the Programme, Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Registrar, KIIT University highlighted the importance of institutional repositories. Dr. Mukesh Pund, Senior Principal Scientist, NISCAIR, New Delhi threw light on various aspects of DSpace maintenance and management in the digital era. There was an overwhelming response from the LIS professionals with participation of 160 delegates from different parts of the country. The hands on training programme continued for two days. Prof. A. K. Sen, Chairman, Central Library Committee and Prof. A. K. Rath, Professor, School of Civil Engineering graced the occasion. Prof. K. C. Das, Utkal University and Prof. Bulu Maharana, Sambalpur University delivered lectures. Dr. Bijayalaxmi Rautaray, Chief Librarian, KIIT University proposed the vote of thanks.
