Astaranga, Oct 11: In an unfortunate incident, while fishing in Devi river near Astaranga block in Puri today, one fisherman identified as Abhay Behera of Balidia village under the block died and three others got critically injured in a lightning strike.
As per reports, the incident took place when eight of the fishermen were returning home in their boat through the Devi river after fishing in the sea.
Following the incident, the three critically injured were rushed to the nearby Upgraded Public Health Centre (UPHC) at Charichhak.
Meanwhile, Abhay’s body has been seized by the police and sent for post-mortem at the Charichhak UPHC.
