Sambalpur, Nov 23: Yesterday the Odisha Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik inaugurated a slew of projects and also laid foundation stones of others in his visit here for a day. He inaugurated several projects at the PHD ground in Ainthapalli and also dedicated the new bus terminal to the public. Apart from this, the CM also set in motion the Pilgrimage Train at Khetrajpur Station for the senior citizens. Following his Sambalpur visit, Naveen visited Kuchinda and unveiled several developmental programs there even.
Keeping in mind to terminate any unwanted situation during the visit of Odisha Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik to Sambalpur, Sambalpur police arrested as many as 90 both BJP and Congress activists. As per sources, former MLA Jay Narayan Mishra, more than 65 BJP activists and five congress activists were arrested by the police. Mishra was held at the Sasan police station for staging a dharna ahead of the sub-collector’s office thus protesting the CM’s visit to Kuchinda while at the Mahila police station 18 activists were held for waving off black flags and hurling eggs on road at the Ainthapali location. Tight security arrangement for the CM’s visit had also been made.
