Nuapada, May 20: Today the locals blocked the communiaction on the Sinapali-Dharmagada route by blocking the road at Chalana by placing a villager’s dead body on the road. The locals protested the police inaction over a complaint filed regarding an attack on the villager a week ago. The deceased is Ujala Jal of Chalana village. He sustained injuries after he was beaten up by another villager Rabi Das on May 13 over some issues. At first, Jal was taken to the Sinapali hospital but was later shifted to the Khariar hospital upon his worsening condition. Late last night, he succumbed to his injuries. Although Jal had lodged a police complaint immediately post the attack at the PS, the police are yet to nab the accused follwoing which the locals forcibly staged the road block.
