Bhubaneswar: A four-day mango festival was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Governor of Odisha Shri SC Jamir on Saturday. The festival organised by the NABARD, Bhubaneswar at its office premises will continue till 6th of June. The festival organised to provide a better platform to the tribal mango farmers of Odisha, is currently displaying almost every single types of mangoes grown in the state and one can buy them at a much cheaper price than the regular market.
Besides mangoes one can also get other fruits like litchi, pineapple, jackfruit etc from the fest
Due to lack of proper storage facilities and marketing, the farmers of Odisha were selling mangoes at a cost of Rs 5 per kg in parts of Nabarangpur, Malkangiri etc. In order to give the farmers a better profit, NABARD has organised the fest, said sources.
