MKCG Hospital doctor under Vigilance net

Berhampur, Oct 1: Assistant professor of Pediatric Surgery of MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Dr Anant Kumar Das was arrested by Odisha Vigilance red handed on Friday for accepting Rs 10,000 as bribe for doing a surgery on a newborn.

Dr Das asked for Rs 10,000 from Suraj Kumar Chauhan, the relative of patient.

As per the information, after Dr Das demanded the amount as bribe, Suraj informed the Vigilance following which a trap was laid by the Vigilance. The anti-corruption wing officials caught Dr Das red handed while accepting the bribe.

The Vigilance officials later conducted a raid at Dr Das’s house, sources said.
