Mobile health service to be available in Jaundice hit areas in Cuttack

Bhubaneswar, March 29: The Odisha Government has woken up from its slumber to tackle the menace. On such a scenario, renovation and safety measures are being undertaken on a war footing so as to minimize any fatalities. As per latest developments in the issue, the administration has confirmed that a total of 38 persons have been infected by the fatal disease.

Mobile health service would soon be initiated for quick action to meet any emergency, 79 different water samples from different source points of the area has been sent Khapuria laboratory for scientific investigations into the presence of any infection, said official sources.

Notably, recent outbreak of Jaundice has triggered a scare among the denizens of the city especially Jobra in Ward Number 41 of the Cuttack Municipal Corporation. Local MLA Pravat Biswal, CMC Mayor Meenakshi Behera, Health Inspector and other officials had visited the spots and accessed the situation. Health awareness camps, campaigns, distribution of Halogen tablets and ORS powder pouches have been distributed to the people.

Besides, water pipe connections have been tested for any leaks, while old worn out ones have been replaced. Free water tankers have been supplied to the people for ensuring water supply to all, sources said.
