Bhubaneswar, Nov 5: More facts are surfacing about the irregularities in Onion seed procurement by the Agriculture Department of the Government of eastern Indian Odisha State.

Even as the department sought to clear the dues of West Bengal Hybrid Seeds & Bio Tech Private Limited – the company which supplied inferior quality seeds to farmers – officials of the department now claim that no such company exists.

However, Company MD Arun Agrawal said tht they were being harassed while claiming that they supplied onion seeds to Odisha State Seeds Corporation.

Notably, the Agriculture Department has approached the Vigilance department to probe the issue of the company supplying sub-standard seeds.

Notably, the lapses came to fore following the investigation report of the State Agriculture department on the irregularities in tender fixing for seed procurement.
