Bhubaneswar: September 28: Replying to a question in Assembly, State Law Minister said, 13,18,988 cases are pending in different courts including the Orissa High Court for disposal. 2,00.710 cases were pending for disposal for more than ten years and 2,65,577 cases were five-year old.
Out of more than 13 lakh cases, 4,05,483 are civil cases and 9,13,505 are criminal cases. He further informed, out of 27 sanctioned posts of judges in Orissa High Court, eight remained vacant and in case of lower courts, total number of sanctioned posts is 804 whereas 191 judges post are yet to be filled.
