Bharat Bandh on Monday: Call by Farmers' Unions protesting three agricultural laws

Bhubaneswar: February 26: Due to the Bharat Bandh call given by Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), most of the markets/shops have remain closed today. In twin City Cuttack & Bhubbaneswar, almost all big shops/malls and other trading houses did not open their establishments since morning.

Buses  are not seen plying on the roads. In most parts of the state,Bus Services have been suspended. Buses under ‘Mo Bus’ service are plying on roads. Other vehicles like Car and all are seen on road but very less in numbers.

Very few number of Trucks are seen plying on roads as the All India Transporters Welfare Association (AITWA), an apex body representing around one crore road transporters in India, had announced its decision to join the protest. The AITWA is demanding the E-Way Bill to be replaced with e-invoice and immediate reduction in fuel prices.

More than 8 Crore Traders from around 40,000 Business Organisations are on strike, demanding a review of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime.
