Kabul, August 26: In a shocking incident, two severe blast at the International Airport in Afghanistan’s Kabul has resulted in 13 deaths and over 60 injured, sources. The deaths also include 2 children.
The blast that took place near the Baron camp outside the airport’s Abbey Gate, originated from within the Afghan crowd who were desperately seeking to leave the country because of the Taliban takeover.
US Pentagon sources have confirmed this news on their twitter handle.
We can confirm that the explosion at the Abbey Gate was the result of a complex attack that resulted in a number of US & civilian casualties. We can also confirm at least one other explosion at or near the Baron Hotel, a short distance from Abbey Gate. We will continue to update.

The two explosions, that took place within 20 minutes of each in mid of the mass evacuation process, keeping in view of the August 31 deadline, has resulted in mass casualties and wounded from the US Army and civilians. The explosion is suspected to be a suicide blast.
Earlier today, the officials from US, UK and Australia had warned the forces at the Kabul airport of a suspected severe terrorist attack by the ISIS. The officials had also asked the forces and civilians to vacate the airport as soon as possible. However, removing such a big crowd of Afghans, seeking to flee the country, was a difficult task.
