Mumbai, Apr 1: After a series of contoversies and say, the Akshay Kumar & Taapsee Pannu starrer ‘Naam Shabana’ a woman centric film hit the screens on Friday, Mar 31. Since then it has had a good opening collection. On the first day of its release, the movie has earned Rs 5.12 crore in India from 2,100 screens across the country.
However, on the morning of the first day, the Shivam Nair’s directorial venture had a average opening with rates of morning shows being pegged at 15 percent. But with its evening shows the movie roped in a boost due to the power-packed performance of Akshay Kumar and attracted more viewers leading to much contributions in the movie collection. The overseas box office collection of the movie settled at Rs 5.19 lakhs in Australia by getting released at 18 screens and Rs 69,010 in New Zealand where it was released in 3 screens, as per “Bollywood Hungama”.

As per Bollywood Hungama, the movie is predicted to earn Rs 12-15 crore in the first weekend and Rs 24-28 crore overall.
Naam Shabana is an action thriller, a prequel to Akshay Kumar’s Baby released in 2015. The movie features Taapsee Pannu in the lead role. The film delves into the backstory of Tapsee’s character, ‘Shabana Khan’ and put in front of the audience that how she had been trained to become a spy. The actress had to undergo training in mixed martial arts, Kudo and Krav Maga as her role demanded. She has received applaud from all sphres for her extraordinary performance.
