Bhubaneswar, Mar 27: Upon experiencing miserable performances and witnessing losses in some districts of Odisha at the Panchayat polls, BJD has got the warning bell ahead of the 2019 general elections and so it has to gear up for which it has begun reviewing its performance. This time the Odisha CM has undertaken an altogether different strategy. Rather having party meetings with all leaders, Patnaik is scrutinizing every leader individually. He is also giving out plans and strategies for the party to buck up before the general elections. Thus, the review task began from Sunday and the first district to be reviewed was the one that had worst performed and the first to come under the grill was the Junagarh MLA Captain Dibysankar Mishra. Patnaik called upon Mishra and reviewed his performance. Due to Mishra, BJD lost in seven zones under Mishra’s constituency. Alone Mishra was able to get 40,000 votes only as compared to last year. Patnaik said to Mishra that he should make the benefits of the government available to all at the grassroot level. Also the BJD party must be strenghned at the base level so that the people can gain back the confidence in the party. The other zones where BJD had a poor performance were the zones of Kalahandi.
On the other hand, party spokesperson Pratap Deb said that due to the poor performance of BJD in 314 blocks, zilla parishad zones and constituencies, new strategies will be undertaken for improvising the base of the party such as strengthening women, youth and student.
