Bhubaneswar, Jan 19: Finance Department has received 1666 from the public on preparation of annual State budget.
As many as 941 suggestions have been received through the website budget.odisha.gov.in while 451 suggestions came through e-mail and the remaining 274 through SMS.
The suggestions broadly relate to revenue receipts, expenditure allocation and measures for observing economy and improvement in public service delivery etc.
These suggestions are being shared with respective Departments and will be taken into consideration while preparing the Annual Budget, 2016-17, the official said.
Notably, the Finance Department has been holding Pre-Budget consultation with a cross section of the society. Realizing the need to make the budgetary process more open and participative using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) through e-mail and SMS;Finance Department invited suggestions in a structured format (displayed in the web page odisha.budget@gov.in) to be used as an input in the process of preparation of Annual Budget 2016-17.
Suggestions were also solicited by e-mail to the address odisha.budget@gov.in and also through SMS to the Mobile number (+91)9438161111. This facility was made available for a fortnight beginning from 1st January, 2016 to 15th January, 2016.
