New born babies rescued from a Hospital dustbin in Cuttack, Odisha

Cuttack, Oct 18: On Monday afternoon, police rescued two new born babies from a dustbin on SCB Medical College and Hospital premises.

As per the information, the two babies have been identified as twin baby girls of a women named Sukanti Nayak.  Sukanti gave birth to the twins at the hospital on Friday. In the absence of her family members, she wrapped the twin babies and dumped them in a dustbin near the Obstetrics and Gynecology (O&G) ward of the hospital.

Coming to know about the incident, the security personnel of the ward informed the hospital campus police outpost following which the police rescued the babies and readmitted them.

As per further information, it is learnt that the woman has psychiatric problems owing to which she dumped her babies in the dustbin.

However, the babies were later handed over to the family and the hospital official announced that proper treatment to the women and security to the newborns would be given.
