Bhubaneswar, Jan 28: the new police commissioner of Twin City Cuttack and Bhubaneswar YB Khurania has his priorities set.
He plans a Vison 2020 document to streamline the force and carry forward its activities.
Urging the citizens of the Twin City to look at police as a friend, he said the Commissionerate has a lot of challenges before it and will take appropriate steps to deal with emerging situations.
Challenges such as cyber crime, atrocities against women and few others will be taken care of by specially trained squads, Khurania said.
On the rising terror threat in Odisha, he said, “Things have improved a lot after the Commissionerate system.”
He said that the State government will be approached soon to strengthen the police force by recruiting required staff to be able to deliver the goods.
“We need to increase patrols and surveillance, we also need add the systems which we do not have. I will sit together with my team to review the situation; we will find out the gaps and try to plug them,” he added.
