Bhubaneswar, Mar 16: In a suspense full twist for Raja Acharya, the Bhubaneswar district and session court has rejected the bail plea of Gangster Raja Acharya. Raja who is lodged at the Jharpada Jail is convicted for the murder of Judo Coach Biranchi Das (trainer of Buddha Singh).
Earlier, on wednesday, the district and session court at Bhubaneswar rejected the Supreme Courts order of bail to Raja Acharya, stating that, though Raja has been granted bail by the SC keeping in eye the case of murder of Judo Coach, but he is also charged with several other issues, until then he cannot be granted bail.
Notably Raja Acharya has been charged on a case where he had life threatened actress Bidusmita’s brother Arun Mantri and also was involved in a gunfire incident. He is also charged with extortion and kidnapping case of a vehicle showroom staff, in the city.
Though he has been granted bail in the Biranchi Das murder case, but the Court has rejected his bail plea in other cases. Until further heard, Raja cannot be granted bail.
In the scenario, Biranchi’s Wife Gitanjali seems quite relieved of the situation, hearing the news. While the Commissionerate police has still assigned one havaldar and two constables for the safety of Gitanjali at the Judo hall.
Notably, the Commissioner of Police Khurania, while talking to the media said, if anyone is in need of security in the case, and if the person feels unsafe, the CP will enquire into their situation and security will be provided to them.
