Now, candidates can go for election campaign as usual.

But, It has been stated by State Election Commission that, restrictions might be clamped if the daily Covid-19 cases see a surge in the coming days.

As there will be two EVMs in each booth (one for the election of councilor/corporator and another for chairperson/Mayor), more polling personnel will be engaged in the polls, said SEC.

Voting for 106 Urban Local Bodies and three municipal corporations will be held on March 24, as per the notification issued by SEC.

Today is the last date for filing nominations.
Scrutiny of Nomination Papers shall be done on March 9. Nominations can be withdrawn by 14th March. Voting shall be done on March 24 and counting on March 26.

The election to the posts of Vice Chairperson and Deputy Mayor will be held on April 7 and 8, 2022 respectively.

The NOTA (none of the above) option will be available for the first time in urban elections in the State as announced by the Commission.
