Cuttack, Nov 25: After demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes and introduction of new Rs 2000 notes, it seems like there are difficulties in giving change. Following this problem a sign board has been put up at the Manguli toll gate on Cuttack-Panikoili highway. The sign board is placed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

On the sign board it’s mentioned that travelers must not pay Rs 2000 as the authority cannot provide change. However the sign board was removed later by the transport authority after being informed about this by a senior police officer.

NHAI’s chief general manger, Dharmendra Sarangi, after the news came to his attention stated that, the sign board was placed by the manger without any approval. He further requested people to use smaller notes while paying at toll plazas. The authority has requested banks to supply them POS machine so that people can pay by swiping their cards.
