Cuttack, Jan 30: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has decided to set up nodal centres in four Maoist prone districts for the ensuing annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations beginning from Feb 28. Out of 295 nodal centres in the state, nodal centres will be set up in 27 police stations in Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Malkangiri and Koraput districts taking note of the Maoist threat. The question papers from these nodal centres would be dispatched to the examination centres and the used answer sheets would be collected from the centre and taken to the nodal centres on the same day of the examination. Apart from this, CCTV cameras will be installed in all sensitive centres. This was informed to the media by Dr Nihar Ranjan Mohanty, Controller of Examinations, BSE. He said the Board has expedited its pre-examination work.
Talking about the students who will appear in the examinations through correspondence course, he said these students who had filled up their forms in the zonal office will download their admit cards by logging in their Unique Identification Number (UIN), which has been already uploaded on the website, after February 7. Asked about the steps the Board has taken to curb malpractice during the examinations, Mohanty stated that flying squads will be formed tentatively by Feb 23, that is five days before the commence of the examinations.
