Norms been made easier for ration card holders by Cabinet for beneficiaries of various government house schemes

Bhubaneswar, Aug 8: Today the Cabinet informed the media that the Odisha government has decided to make the norms easy for the issue of ration cards under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) order for the beneficiaries who come under Indira Awas Yojana (IAY), Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana (BPGY) and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).

Chief Secretary, Aditya Prasad Padhi informed this to the media. The second amendment made by the government to this order is that it has  decided to offer a general amnesty up to September 30 for ineligible beneficiaries, who have been removed from the NFSA list, to return their cards. The money collected by the state government as penalty for fraudulently obtaining rations cards would be returned to them during the period and the announcement related to this has already been made by the Food Supply and Consumer Welfare minister two days back.

Yesterday, the Cabinet also approved 14 proposals in the meeting including implementation of Kalinga Siksha Sathi Yojana, approval for setting up of Odisha Mineral Exploration Corporation (OMEC), ordinance on amendment to OdishaOfficial Language Act, 1954, Odisha Electricity (Duty) Act, 1961 and Odisha Gram Panchayat Act, 1964; reconstitution of Cabinet Committee on Disinvestment (CCD), allotment of land for Skill Development Institute and supply of minerals to industries through Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC).
