Berhampur: May 09: Cash, weapons and other objectionable articles were found in Berhampur Circle Jail. A joint team led by IG Amitabh Thakur, Berhampur SP Ashish Kumar Singh and Ganjam Collector Prem Chandra Choudhury raided the Jail early morning today in the presence of Jail officials as Police had information about some prisoners possessing some objectionable items. The seized articles include mobile phones, SIM cards, cigarettes, Ganja, weapons and huge amount of cash.
Police IG Amitabh Thakur said, Police will investigate how these materials enter inside the jail and departmental action will be taken against those responsible for allowing these materials.
