Rourkela, March 12: The renovated Laboratory of Occupational Health Centre (OHSC) of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) was inaugurated by Dr AK Singh, Director In-charge (M &HS) recently. SK Nath GM(Utility), AK Nayak DGM In-charge, Civil Engineering (Services), BC Mundari DGM (Power distribution), Dr. T Mishra Senior Deputy Director  in-charge (OHSC) and many other senior  officers of the Steel Plant.  It is to be noted that the laboratory facility is yet another milestone of OHSC inside the plant premises. This  will be very convenient  for the employees who can now give and collect blood samples from the centre the very same day instead of going to IGH. It also has an exclusive seating arrangement for patients in waiting.

It is worth mentioning that RSP was the first Steel Plant in the country to have a Full fledged Occupational Health Centre inside the Plant premises. In September 2015, ‘Dhawantri, a disaster management unit with new life saving devices was added to the centre to treat patients in crises.
