Odisha bats for Central assistance for creating young entrepreneurs

Bhubaneswar, Jan 19: MSME Minister Jogendra Behera has sought the Centre to support the State Government with financial assistance for developing the MSME sector and creating more young entrepreneurs across the State. 

Attending the 13th National MSME Board meeting in New Delhi, Behera drew the attention of the member by presenting his view and spoke about several programmes launched by the State government, said officials. 

He urged the Board to declare State Institute of Entrepreneurship Development as the National institution and open an Intellectual Property Facilitation Cell (IPFC) here, they said. 

Besides, he also drew the attention for setting up the Technology Business Incubation Centre in IIT, IIM and other national level premiers in the state. During the meeting Behera also pitched for Geographical Identification tag to Pahal Rasagola enterprises.

He appealed to Centre to provide central assistance to Pahal Rasagola enterprises under Cluster Development Programme (CDP) by approving its Diagnostic Survey report. 

He requested to hand over the power to the States for approving the projects with Rs 5 crore investment and demanded a policy for modernization, skill development and infrastructure development of the industries in all the districts across the country.      

Union MSME Minister Kalraj Mishra, Minister of State Giriraj Singh, MSME Ministers of other states, Union Finance and MSME secretaries attended the meeting.
