Sambalpur: April 15: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated the bridge which connects Rengali block in Sambalpur with Lakhanpur block in Jharsuguda over the Ib river, a tributary of the Mahanadi River. This new bridge is the new link between the MCL coal field area adjacent to Belpahad in the Jharsuguda district with State Highway 10 near Rengali of Sambalpur district. Public Works department executed the construction of the 2.5 km long bridge at an estimated cost of Rs 117.5 crore.
Also, Patnaik had attended the second annual convocation of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Sambalpur and laid the foundation stone of Rengali-Sapne by-pass road during his visit today. ‘Funds will not come in the way of the development of Sambalpur’, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik assured during his visit to the city. Also, he said, “I am glad to be in Sambalpur today for a number of welfare and development projects for the local people’.
Besides dedicating ‘Ib Setu’, the longest bridge in Western Odisha to the people of the State, CM inaugurated the western Odisha freedom fighters’ memorial hall and museum. Also, Naveen Patnaik addressed the gathering at a ceremony to mark the Nirman Shramik Seva week and gave away work orders for pucca houses to 138 construction workers under the Nirman Shramik Pucca Ghar Yojana. A 50-bed mother and child care hospital complex on the premises of Sadar Hospital was also inaugurated by the CM in his Samalpur visit.
