Bhubaneswar: November 14: Addressing the State Level Children’s Day celebrations at Capital High School in Bhubaneswar, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik asked the children to move ahead with strong determination and glorify the name of the mother land further. Speaking to the children, he said, ‘I want to see all the children of my state to come to school. Let the children prosper and excel in Sports, Dance, Music, Social Service and many other subjects of their interest’.
Chief Minister said, ‘Children contribute 30% of our population, but they will contribute 100% to build the future of the State’.
While expressing his feelings towards the children, he announced a series of scholarships for students and also teachers during this state-level Children’s Day celebrations at Capital High School.
Ten students of tenth class of each block of the state will be awarded with scholarships of Rs.5000 each for scoring good marks in Odiya Language. This is an attempt by government of Odisha for the development of Odia language as well as for encouraging students’ interest towards the language.
He also announced Rs 5000 scholarship each for a total of 40,000 students for scoring good marks in HSC board examinations. 100 students from each Block & Municipal Corporation, 50 students from each Municipality and 20 students from each NAC will be awarded with the scholarship.
The CM exhorted schools to include alumni for all round development of schools under ‘Mo School Abhiyan’ and announced a cash award of Rs 1 lakh for best three schools in each block across the State. For the development of schools, alumni and citizens’ participation will be encouraged
He also motivated students to study hard to fulfil their dreams and take moral responsibility of parents and work for the development of society, state and nation as a whole.
