Odisha CM dedicates ‘Ret Medium Irrigation Project’ in Kalahandi District of Odisha

Bhawanipatna/Bhubaneswar: February 16: Odisha Chief Minister dedicated Ret Medium Irrigation Project in Kalahandi District of Odisha which shall facilitate for Irrigation to 8500 hectares of agricultural land of 79 villages of Bhawanipatana, Kesinga, Narla and Langigarh Block. The Project has been built up at an estimated cost of Rs.768.46 crore.

Besides, Naveen Patnaik inaugurated 23 Projects having worth Rs.910.57 crore and laid foundation stones for 15 Projects having worth of 435.28 crores.

In his tour to Kalahandi District today, CM and Bju Janata Dal Supremo attended a ‘Mishrana Parba’ at Biju Patnaik Stadium in Junagarh, where hundreds of Congress Workers were inducted into the Party. Addressing the gathering there, Naveen briefed regarding various welfare schemes of his Government.

In Bhawanipatna, Chief Minister made two announcements for the youth i.e. Bhawanipatna Government (Autonomous) College will be accorded unitary University Status and Bhawanipatna Women’s College will have Science Stream soon.

Later, Odisha CM addressed a mega Programme of Mission Shakti at Bhawanipatna, which was attended by thousands of women from different parts of the State. Speaking on the occasion, Naveen said, Mission Shakti Women Brigade will also work for the Paddy Procurement made by the State Government.

On the occasion, CM released Rs.15,000 each to 11,122 Women SHGs as seed money, Rs.25 lakhs each to 14 block level Mahasanghas and Rs.3000 each to 9836 SHGs as digital empowerment assistance under the ongoing Mission Shakti Programme.
