Odisha CM launched “Kalinga Sikhsya Sathi Yojana”; subsidized study loan for students

Bhubaneswar: June 27: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announces a new scheme ‘Kalinga Sikshya Sathi Yojana’ to provide an opportunity to meritorious students to pursue higher studies.

Launching the Scheme, CM said, state government has decided to provide education loan with interest rate of 1% per annum, which will allow the students to pursue their career in Management, Law, Engineering and Medicine etc.

The state government will spend 500 crores on this account. Naveen further added, this is a historic and pioneering step of his government to reduce the loan burden of thousands of parents as well as to empower poor students to pursue their aspirations in higher education.

CM Naveen Patnaik dedicated the scheme to the foresight of Biju Patnaik, who had instituted Kalinga UNESCO award to popularize science.
