Bhubaneswar, Aug 27: A friend request acceptance on the famous social networking site, Facebook, turned out to be vicious for a girl as she had been duped by a fraud to the tune of Rs. 2lakh. The girl has filed an FIR against the culprit at the Naypalli police station.

It’s stated that, a boy named Sahil Malhotra had sent a friend request to this girl who is a resident of the capital city in the month of May, 2016. On accepting the request, the boy introduced himself to be a telefilm artist in Pune. Conversations started regularly and eventually the girl fell for him in just couple of days. The girl was then made to meet a girl named Archana in Bhubaneswar, who was said to be the cousin of Sahil.

After a few days, Archana called up the girl and requested her to lend a sum of 2lakh as Sahil was facing a severe financial crisis. The father of the girl unhesitant, agreed to give the amount but when he asked Sahil to repay the loan, Sahil refused to do so. To meet Sahil and find out what was actually going on, the family members of the girl went to Pune but to a major shock, they found no one staying at the provided address.

On realizing that father and his daughter had been deceived, the girl’s father filed an FIR at the Nayapalli police station in relation to this incident.
