Bhubaneswar: May 14: As more than five lakh houses have been damaged in the Cyclone Fani, Odisha Government shall assess the damage as well as identify the affected families from May 15.
Panchayati Raj Secretary, DK Singh said, ‘For the assessment of damage and identification of affected families in Puri and Khurda districts, government of Odisha shall mobilise 25 teams from other districts of the State’.
The process of allocation of new houses shall start from June 01 and senior officials will monitor the house building works in those Blocks which have suffered maximum damage.
Information and Public Relations Department Secretary, Sanjay Singh said, 2226 out of 2,364 piped water supply systems in Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur and Bhadrak districts have been made fully functional.
Further, it has been informed that, the water supply in Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack districts are operating in full strength.
92.25 percent of 393 rural piped water supply units have been fuctioning. In Puri, 85 percent of the 258 piped water supply projects have been restored.
Singh said, on daily basis, 3 lakh litres water is being supplied to Puri with the help of tankers and special teams have been deployed in the district to to take care of restoration of water supply system.
Speaking on restoration of Mobile Towers, Government said, 56 percent in Bhubaneswar, 73 percent in Cuttack and 18 percent in Puri town have been restored.
Secretary I & PR further informed, Power supply has been restored for 70,200 consumers out of 72,000 consumers in City Distribution Division (CDD)-1. Likewise, all the rural feeders under CDD-2 will be restored by May 15.
