Bhubaneswar: June 06: Odisha gears up to celebrate ‘World Skill Day’ and starts preparing different events, programmes and functions to make it a great day.

A state level preparatory meeting was held on last Friday at State Secretariat, chaired by Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sri Sanjay Kumar Das Burma. Attending the meeting, Principal Secretary of Skill Development and Technical education Sri Laxmi Narayan Gupta pointed out the purpose of celebration of World Skill Day and presented a list of programmes to be organised at all technical educational institutions of state on the occasion of World Skill Day.

While answering to media persons after the meeting, Sri Burma told, world skill day will be celebrated on July 15 this year at all technical educational institutions starting from ITIs to IITs.

Campus cleanliness, creating a green ambience in campus and development of educational environment will be the thrust of the celebration, added Dasburma.

Burma further informed, 1.5 lakh plantations will be made at all technical educational institutions and saplings will be provided by Forest department. In all district level technical Institutions, different products and latest technologies prepared by students in their laboratories, will be exhibited besides organising competitions among students on different technical skill. Government will also felicitate successful personalities from the field of technical education.
