Odisha Govt announces hike in salary of Anganwadi Employees

Bhubaneswar: October 17: Chief Minister of Odisha today announced increase in the salary and other benefits for Anganwadi Workers, Helpers and Mini Anganwadi workers. As per the announcement, Government enhanced salary of Anganwadi workers, Mini Anganwadi workers, Anganwadi Helpers to Rs.6000, Rs.4125 and Rs.3000 respectively. Earlier, salary of Anganwadi workers was 4000 rupees whereas salary of Mini Anganwadi workers and Anganwadi helpers were 2750 and 2000 rupees.

While announcing, Chief Minister said, ‘Anganwadi workers, Mini Anganwadi workers and Anganwadi Helpers have a significant role in care and protection of women and children.’

Besides enhancing the salary, Government has decided to insure the health and life of Anganwadi Employees and the premium part of the insurance will be paid by the government.

Chief Minister announced regarding the salary hike and other benefits after listening to the employees of Anganwadi, who have been protesting at the Lower PMG Square in Bhubaneswar since more than a month.
