Bhubaneswar: The Chief Minister himself has remained completely silent on such a sad incident even after a long time in the death of a Nepali student on the night of February 15, along with the state’s Education Minister not going to the scene of the incident even after 10 days of the incident and the unconcerned silence of the Union Education Minister on this incident speaks volumes, Rajgangpur MLA Rajjan Ekka has alleged.
He said India’s relations with Nepal are very close. But the way in which these bilateral relations were disrupted in the KIIT incident has brought great shame and humiliation to the country and the state.
Ekka said that the double engine government has completely failed to protect the dignity of the country and the state.
Even after the Congress MLA leader expressed his deep concern in the Assembly over such a dire situation, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi did not utter a single word even in the Assembly, the Congress leader said.
He questioned as to why the police has not yet presenting Advik Srivastava, the student involved in the Nepali student’s death incident, before the magistrate.
“Who is obstructing the path of law? Has the government ordered the police to obstruct the path because Advik Srivastava’s father is a close associate of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath,” he asked.
He said both the central and state governments should be careful about how Nepal-India relations remain intact and demanded that those responsible be handed strict punishment.
