Odisha govt launches citizen portal

Bhubaneswar: People can now lodge their complaints directly with police through “citizen portal” in Odisha. The facility was launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik during a progarmme on Saturday.

With the launch of the system, there is no need to visit the police stations for filing FIR. The citizens can register their complaints through online sitting at home.

While launching the facility, Patnaik expressed his thanks to Odisha police for the inititiave that will help people in great manner.

Besides filing complaints, people can apply for the charachter certificates, seek permission for rallies or processions, permission for holding progarmmes, protests or strikes through the website www.citizenportal-op.gov.

Even, the work like tenants verification, employees verification, registration of missing permissions and registration of lost property can also be done through the portal.

The site facilitates to track the status of their complaints registered. This will also provide a better platform for tracking criminals and larger crimes.
