Bhubaneswar, Dec 9: Yesterday the Odisha government laid a target of bringing down the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) losses of four distribution companies (discoms) to 30%.
The decision to limit the T&D losses of Cesu, Wesco, Nesco and Southco at 30% by next year from the current average 34% was taken in a meeting presided over by the CS. There were also discussion held on revenue collection and reining in power theft and it has been decided that steps will be taken to withdraw electricity connections which are not being used.
The meeting was attended by the development commissioner, Energy secretary, Gridco authorities and officials of the discoms.
