Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Monday presented the budget for the financial 2025-26 and announced a lot of new schemes. While presenting the budget, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi informed that the state government will launch a new scheme Shree Jagannath Darshan Yojana to fulfil the wishes of poor devotees.
According to the Chief Minister, Lord Jagannath is the soul of the culture of the state. Every Odia desires to have a glimpse of Lord Jagannath in his lifetime.
“In order to fulfil the wishes of the very poor devotees, the state government will launch a new scheme Shree Jagannath Darshan Yojana whereby they will travel to Puri, have darshan of Shree Jagannath and Mahaprasad free of cost,” said CM Mohan Majhi.
While announcing the new scheme, Majhi informed that Rs 30 crore has been allocated for the purpose in the state budget.
Apart from this, the Odisha government has approved Integrated Development of Maa Tarini Temple complex in Keonjhar with an estimate of Rs 225 crore. The state government is also committed to the development of Mahima Gadi at Joranda and construction of a Bhabya Sunya Mandap there, said CM.
