Bhubaneswar, March 31: Odisha generated interest among investors at the ongoing DefExpo 2016, being held at Goa as the partner State.
Sanjeev Chopra, Principal Secretary, State Industries department made a presentation in the Defence Offset Seminar on March 29. It covered the policy enablers— IPR 2015 and SEZ Policy 2015 and the industrial infrastructure available.
The policy on setting up industrial parks in the private sector was also detailed. Earlier in the day, Odisha also participated in the India-UK round table organised by CII and the Association of Defence Industries of UK.
“The range of investment opportunities in Odisha, were highlighted in both the events”, said Chopra.
He added that the State has 17 pc share of live investments in the country as per the recent report published by ASSOCHAM.
The seminar was also addressed by MP Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia, Chairman CII National Committee Bharat Harbanslal Khera and Joint Secretary Defence Offset Management Wing among others.
At the sidelines of the seminar, Odisha received investment enquiries from Rolls Royce, Lockheed Martin, Bharat Forge, Chivaro Technologies, Samtel and Ashok Leyland.
This initiative of the State government is in-line with the intent of Chief Minister to develop Odisha into ‘Manufacturing hub of the East’”, said Chopra.
