Bhubaneswar: Four gymnasts from the Odisha AM/NS India Gymnastics High Performance Centre (HPC) are representing India in the prestigious FIG Apparatus World Cup 2025 series.
Tapan Mohanty and Tapeswarnath Das are competing in the Senior Men Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) category, while Pranati Nayak and Karishma Rajput are in the Senior Women Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) category.
In the MAG event in Baku, Azerbaijan (March 6-9), Tapan Mohanty impressed with an eighth-place finish in the Floor Exercise/Still Rings with a score of 8.933. The WAG event will take place in Antalya, Turkey, from March 20-23, where Pranati and Karishma will compete in Vault and Balance Beam.
The Sports Authority of India has also launched a National Gymnastics Coaching Camp, with Odisha AM/NS India Gymnastics HPC’s Chief Coach Ashok Mishra and Coach Shinoj Muliyil leading the MAG and WAG teams, respectively. These achievements highlight the centre’s commitment to nurturing India’s gymnastics talent.
