Odisha LPG Distributors Association protest the arrest of three persons in Rourkela gas cylinder fire mishap

Bhubaneswar, August 12: After the arrest of three persons in connection to the Rourkela gas cylinder fire mishap case which took the life of four family members, the All Odisha LPG Distributors Association has gone on a protest where around 400 members of the Association have stopped the gas distribution work today.

Terming the arrest as not justified, the association’s members said that without any proper investigation, the three were arrested.

The Association has stopped the LPG gas supply for a day. However, only emergency calls service has been made available for people in the State, sources said.

It may be noted that, after the gas mishap on July 31 which took the life of Suresh Tripathy, his wife and two daughters, Police had arrested three persons named Mukesh Kejriwal, Owner of Utkal Gas Agency, and two employees of the firm named Trilochan Bhuyan and Pranadhan Mohanty on August 10.

A complaint was also lodged by relative of Suresh in which they have alleged that the incident happened due to negligence of the LPG distributer
