Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: October 21: 58th Police Commemoration Day has been observed today across the State. DGP RP Sharma participated in the State Level Programme held at State Police Head Quarter as Chief Guest and paid floral tributes to the martyrs. A two-minute prayer was held as a mark of respect to the departed souls. Besides, the police band paid special tributes to the martyrs. DGP RP Sharma and other top cops were among the dignitaries present at the function.
It is to be noted; last year 379 police and para military personnel from across India lost their lives while performing their duties. Nine officers of Odisha lost their lives last year on duty. The State Police today paid tributes to those martyrs.
