Odisha police seizes counterfeit notes worth Rs. 7.90 Cr, 3 held

Three men arrested in Odisha’s Koraput, on Sunday after counterfeit notes with a face value of about Rs. 7.90 Crore were recovered from their possession.

The suspects identified as native of Chhattisgarh, were coming from Raipur and heading towards Visakhapatnam along with the fake currency notes with a face vale of Rs. 7,90,00,000, said the officials.

The police intercepted the car and seized the recovered counterfeit notes at the regular vehicle check post at Sunki, in Koraput district. The police are carrying a further investigation to ascertain the source of the fake notes and parties involved in the offence.

Last year, in November the Sunabeda Police seized the counterfeit notes with face value over Rs. 3 lakh.
