Bhubaneswar: July 27: The Odisha government’s Location Accessible Multimodal Initiative (LAccMI) scheme has been opposed by the state’s private bus owners’ association.
The Odisha Government will launch an innovative Location Accessible Multimodal Initiative (LAccMI) scheme to ensure affordable and hassle-free transport for people in rural areas across the state.
Under the new scheme, the Commerce and Transport department has decided to strategically focus on intra-block and intra-district connectivity first, before integrating it with inter-city bus operations.
The scheme is expected to be launched soon to provide affordable transport to residents throughout the state.
The All Odisha Private Bus Owners’ Association has demanded, however, that all private buses be included in the program rather than using buses from outside the state.
The association has threatened to stage a protest on August 16 by stopping bus service throughout the State if their demands are not met by the government by the deadline of August 15.
