Odisha reports 170 Covid-19 New Cases; No cases in10 Districts

Bhubaneswar: August 23: Odisha reported 2,993 new COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours and with this, total cases in the State increased to 78,530.

According to the Health & Family Welfare Department’s information, out of 2,993 cases, 1879 were in quarantine & rest 1114 are local contact cases.

Khurda District sees the biggest single-day jump of 606 cases in a day. Other districts, which have registered more than 100 cases are, Ganjam (271), Cuttack (158), Puri (156), Nayagarh (153), Rayagada (137), Jajpur (121), Mayurbhanj (120), Balasore (115) and Sambalpur (104).

Besides, Bargarh District reported 98 cases, Koraput 95 cases, Bhadrak 92 cases, Malkangiri 85 cases, Sundergarh 70 cases, Nabarangpur 68 cases, Keonjhar 63 cases, Bolangir 62 cases, Dhenkanal 60 cases, Kandhamal 58 cases, Jagatsinghpur 46 cases, Kendrapara, Jharsuguda & Gajapati 43 cases each, Sonepur 40 cases, Kalahandi 36 cases, Angul 21 cases, Nuapada 11 cases and  Boudh & Deogarh 9 cases each.

So far, 52,277 patients have recovered from the disease in the State.

As informed by H & FW department, 10 more people died due to COVID-19 in last 24 hours and the death toll in the State reached 409.

At present, 25,791 cases are active in Odisha.
