Odisha reports 7 new COVID-19 cases: Total Reach 45

June 8:

Odisha is experiencing a gradual although consistent increase of COVID-19 cases. The most recent data from the Directorate of Public Health indicates that seven additional COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Odisha, raising the overall cumulative count to 45 as of Sunday.

The condition of 33 of the 45 confirmed cases is being closely monitored by health officials, as they are presently active. Patients are currently receiving treatment in isolation facilities at designated hospitals, and there have been no reports of severe illness to date. Twelve patients have since recovered from the illness.

Dr. Nilakantha Mishra, the Director of Public Health, urged citizens to adhere to fundamental COVID-19-appropriate behaviours, including the use of masks, the maintenance of proper hand hygiene, and the avoidance of congested areas.

The Centre had previously issued an advisory requesting that states guarantee the availability of critical medications, ventilators, isolation beds, and oxygen supply in order to prevent any potential escalation.
