Bhubaneswar: April 30: Odisha reported 8681 COVID Positive cases in last 24 hours. This is the highest number of cases reported in a day in Odisha. As per the information given by I & PR Department, out of 8681 new cases, 4948 people were in quarantine and rest 3733 are local contact cases.
Khurda District has been continuously reporting highest number of daily cases since last few days and today, it has reported 1408 cases.
Sundergarh District has reported 745 new cases in last 24 hours, followed by Cuttack 570 cases, Puri 514 cases, Balangir 459 cases, Bargarh 423 cases, Angul 419 cases, Jharsuguda 411 cases, Sambalpur 410 cases, Nawarangpur 368 cases, Jajpur 321 cases, Nuapada 304 cases, Mayurbhanj 220 cases, Ganjam 198 cases, Kalahandi 195 cases, Nayagarh 160 cases, Balasore 155 cases, Rayagada 151 cases, Keonjhar 148 cases, Gajapati 125 cases, Koraput 113 cases,Bhadrak 103 cases, Deogarh 102 cases, Sonepur 98 cases, Kendrapara 85 cases, Boudh 57 cases, Kandhamal 54 caases, Malkangiri 34 cases, Dhenkanal 33 cases, Jagatsinghpur 21 cases and 277 cases found from State Pool.
With this, total number of cases in the State increased to 4,44,194 and out of that, 3, 80,400 people have recovered from the disease. In last 24 hours, 4,679 people have recovered from the disease.
Active cases number also increased to 61,698.
As reported by H & FW Department, Odisha recorded 14 fatalities in last 24 hours. Out of that, Koraput & Sundergarh district reported 3 fatalities each, Rayagada & Khurda District 2 deaths each, and Ganjam, Kalahandi, Sambalpur & Nawarangpur recorded single death each in last 24 hours.
Odisha registered 2043 deaths so far since the beginning of the pandemic.
In last 24 hours, 45,452 tests have been done and total tests done so far in Odisha reached 1,00,86,656.
