Odisha reported one more case of Omicron Variant of Covid-19. Institute of Life Sciences has informed the same to State H&FW Department on Wednesday. With this, total tally of new Covid Variant increased to 9.
The person, infected with Omicron Variant, is from Keonjhar district and had returned from Dubai on December 16. He has returned to Odisha via Kolkata in a Train. His samples were sent for genome sequencing which confirmed he was infected with Omicron.
The samples of his family members have been tested twice in between, but are found to be negative both the times.
Odisha had first reported two cases of Omicron on December 21.
On the other side, Covid-19 Cases have been growing in Odisha. To-day, it has reported 221 fresh cases. Out of which, 34 cases are under 18 years of age.
185 patients have recovered from the disease in last 24 hours. Total Cases in Odisha( since the beginning of the pandemic) increased to 1054381. Out of that, 1044278 persons have already recovered from the State.
Active Caseload stands at 1593.
