Bhubaneswar: May 31: The State Government has facilitated employment opportunities for 1.75 lakh youth by setting up 85000 small industries in 2015-16 and will set up 37000 more MSMEs in 2016-17, official sources said. MSME Minister Jogendra Behera said incubation centres would be there in each district to provide assistance to the entrepreneurs through Biju Atma Nijukti Yojana. Odisha Government has targeted to create employment opportunities for 4 lakh youth by setting up 1.5 lakh small industries by 2018-19. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik reviewed the performance of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) department yesterday at State Secretariat and directed it to take necessary steps to meet the target. It has been decided in the review meeting to expedite the process for setting up Food Parks and imported Wood based Cluster at Paradip. The proposed wood based cluster is expected to provide alternative to wood working industries, besides meeting the wood requirement of people without disturbing the natural forests. Chief Minister also directed to create 60000 village based industries by 2018-19 through Odisha Khadi and Village Industry Board. On this occasion, Minister Sri Behera requested Chief Minister for the revival of Odisha State Financial Corporation.
