SOA University observed Earth Day by launching plantation drive:

Bhubaneswar, April 22: Keeping in view the terrible heat experienced in several parts of the country including Odisha, the SOA University today observed the Earth Day by launching a plantation drive to extend the existing green cover.

Scores of fruit bearing and other trees with a large canopy were planted in two different campuses of the SOA University under the supervision of the NSS wing of the University to make the areas green.

The trees, including Ashok, Karanj, Jamu and other species, were planted by faculty and students in the campuses of the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), the faculty of engineering and technology, and Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IAS), faculty of agriculture of the University. The program was coordinated by Dr. Nachiketa Sharma, Coordinator, NSS, SOA University.

Mr. Gopabandhu Kar, Managing Member of the University, Prof. Premananda Mohapatra, Dean, faculty of agricultural sciences, Prof. S.C. Si, Dean, faculty of pharmaceutical sciences, Prof. Anup Samantaray, Dean, faculty of management, Ms. Pravati Tripathy, Dean, faculty of nursing, Dr. Jyoti Ranjan Das, Associate Dean, Students’ Welfare, among others, were present.
