In the upcoming OSSSC recruitment exam, Odisha will give a weightage of 5% extra marks to short-term covid-19 healthcare workers who have been employed for a minimum of three months.
The “Odisha grant of weightage in marks in the Recruitment examinations in favor of Short-Term Covid-19 Healthcare workers Rules-2022” was drafted by the government on the orders of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in light of the contributions made by these temporary healthcare workers during the pandemic.
According to the rules, short-term covid-19 healthcare workers who were employed for a minimum of three months would be given a weightage of 5% extra marks in the upcoming recruitment exam to be held by OSSSC for the positions of Nursing Officers, Pharmacists, Radiographers, Laboratory Technicians, and Multipurpose Healthcare Workers. This would only be a temporary fix.

Thousands of applicants for the aforementioned positions, according to the aspirants of these recruiting examinations, would gain from this. The temporary covid-19 employees congratulated the Chief Minister and the government for making this choice.
Thousands of temporary healthcare workers, including nursing officers, pharmacists, radiologists, laboratory technicians, and MPHWs (M/F), were hired by the government to work in district headquarters hospitals, medical colleges, hospitals, and Covid-care Centers across the state during the Covid-19 pandemic.
