Odisha Urban Local Bodies To Go For Poll On March 24
Day after the completion of Panchayat Poll in Odisha, State Election Commission (SEC) on Friday announced the dates for the urban local body (ULB) elections.
Elections to 106 Municipalities/NACs and three Municipal Corporations shall be held on March 24, State Election Commissioner (SEC) Aditya Prasad Padhi said.
As per the schedule, SEC shall issue Notice on 28th February. Nominations shall be filed from March 2 to March 7. Scrutiny of Nomination Papers shall be done on March 9. Nominations can be withdrawn by 14th March. Voting shall be done on March 24 and counting on March 26.

The election to the posts of Vice Chairperson and Deputy Mayor will be held on April 7 and 8, 2022 respectively.
State Election Commissioner said, with this announcement, the model code of conduct has come into immediate effect from today.
There are 47 Municipalities and 59 NACs in State. In total 1931 Wards are there in 106 Municipalities/NACs. Over 27 lakh voters shall cast their franchise in 3030 booths in the Municipalities/NACs.
3 Municipal Corporations shall also go for Poll on the same day. Total 168 Wards are there in 3 Corporations. Over 14 lakh voters shall cast their franchise in 1407 booths. These include 59 wards and 452 booths in Cuttack, 42 wards and 250 booths in Berhampur and 67 wards and 705 booths in Bhubaneswar.
There will direct elections for the post of Mayor in corporation area and chairpersons in municipalities/NACs.
The voters will be allowed to use NOTA option in the forthcoming Urban Elections.
